For Accountants
Established for many years in the heart of Manchester our insolvency team are able to provide you with a dynamic and reliable insolvency service, working with you to ensure that your clients receive the best advice and that the optimum outcome is achieved.
Why Poppleton & Appleby?
- At the foundation of our insolvency and business recovery business are the relationships we have established with accountants – working together with the ultimate aim of ensuring the best outcome to the benefit of all those affected.
- Since we are exclusively Insolvency Practitioners and have no audit division we represent no threat to your practice. Furthermore, where a turnaround procedure is required your input would be valued in relation to the provision of financial information.
- We ensure that your working relationship with your client is preserved at all times.
- Having been established as insolvency and business turnaround specialists in Manchester city centre for over one hundred years, we have built up relationships with all major clearing banks and the HM Revenue & Customs, all of whom have an increasingly influential input on the nature of insolvency proceedings.
- Every matter we deal with, regardless of size, is led by one of the three Partners, who between them have over 100 years of insolvency experience and are supported by an experienced and highly capable team of support staff.
- We offer a free initial consultation at your offices, or ours if preferred.
Insolvency Advice for Businesses
From the sole trader through to the large corporate entity, no business is immune from financial difficulties. We offer a free, confidential consultation service, where your client can discuss their concerns and receive quality advice. Such meetings always prove to be a valuable forum for the concerned director / business owner and a formal insolvency procedure is often not required.
Where a formal insolvency procedure is not required, this is usually because the Director has taken early action to minimise the impact of any given problem on the Company.
“We can provide valuable guidance”
In some cases however, a formal insolvency procedure may prove to be the appropriate option and in these cases we will present you and your client with a concise overview of the available options and clearly identify which of those options we feel will lead to the optimum outcome for your client and all stakeholders.
Where a company enters into a mode of insolvency, it does not necessarily preclude the directors of that company from trading that business or a similar business in the future – providing that any such scenario also secures the best possible outcome for the creditors of that company. We can provide valuable guidance in this regard.
Insolvency Procedures for Businesses
- Creditors Voluntary Liquidation
- Company Voluntary Arrangements
- Administrative Receivership / LPA Receivership
- Voluntary Arrangements for Partnerships and Sole Traders
Insolvency Procedures for Individuals
Our network of referring Accountants are often surprised to learn that throughout our history we have been dealing with individual insolvency matters and currently have a broad spread of ongoing consumer cases.
At Poppleton & Appleby we consider that we offer a bespoke service in these matters, identifying the most appropriate advice for and individual’s circumstances as opposed to the ‘debt factory’ approach adopted by some competitors. As with all cases, it is our guarantee that a Partner will be involved throughout the assignment.
We are able to offer the following insolvency related services:
- Individual Voluntary Arrangements (‘IVA’)
- Advice on Bankruptcy related issues
Creditor Representation
The practice acts for many plc’s and large corporate bodies as well as SME’s in relation to representation at meetings of creditors, offering a dedicated service. Our representative would attend or arrange attendance at any meeting of creditors on behalf of your client and provide a report either direct to your office or to your client.
