Around 30 jobs have been saved at a struggling Stockport printing firm following its sale to a client company.
SF Taylor & Co has been acquired by Cheadle-based marketing and communications company APS Group, which previously used the firm’s services.
The print firm, which was originally founded in 1926 to supply pattern cards to cotton mills but more recently operated as a general printers, went into administration in December after running into financial difficulties. The joint administrators, Leonard Curtis and Poppleton & Appleby, appointed surveyors and valuers Charterfields to help find a buyer for the business.
Ian Maycock, director at Charterfields’ Manchester office, said: “We were able to locate a number of interested parties and received several offers. The offer from APS Group was the most favourable.
“The acquisition will allow APS to safeguard its print supplies and extend its range of services. We are particularly pleased that it will secure the future of this long-established North West business and safeguard the jobs of the workforce.”
